Shē Essential Beauty

Shē Essential Beauty is a Chinese medicine inspired line of natural and organic skin care and bath/body products developed by my partner, fellow acupuncturist Laura Kauffmann and myself. Shē Essential Beauty’s luxurious line of skincare products aims to bring harmony and balance to everything it touches and were created from the ancient Chinese concept that "beauty comes from within."

Based on the philosophy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, these unique serums, scrubs, balms, sprays and salts use all-natural herbs such as Ginko Bilobo for increased circulation, Ru Xiang (frankincense) for skin healing, and Zhen Zhu (mother-of-pearl), which the Chinese have used for centuries to enhance the skin’s beauty. These herbs are combined with medicinal-grade essential oils such as Xiang Cao Mao (lemongrass) and Bo He (peppermint) for stress reduction and calming effects. Together the herbs and oils form a powerful combination that rejuvenates the skin and harmonizes the mind.

We have created a collection of over a dozen parabens and synthetic free products, including:

• Facial Serum: Shē Essential Beauty Facial Serum blends the highest grade mother-of-pearl with nutrient-rich oils and silk amino acids for ultimate skin rejuvenation and supple beauty.
• Herbal Lip Balm: The healing powers of frankincense and myrrh are infused in the Herbal Lip Balm to create a powerful cure for chapped winter lips.
• Lavender Toner:  A gentle witch hazel-based flower water to tone, hydrate, and heal redness and inflammation.
• Sugar Scrub: A blend of natural sugars, organic oils and Chinese pearl create an invigorating and aromatic exfoliating treatment. Available in lavender-lemongrass, lemongrass-mint and cellulite smoother varieties.
• Washing Grains: A blend of nourishing flowers & oatmeal combine with Chinese pearl and jasmine tea to clean and tighten pores while gently detoxifying the skin.
• Body Serums: A synergistic blend of therapeutic essential oils and herbal extracts provide a powerful moisturizer for the whole body. Foot serums are also available.
• Cuticle Butter: All-natural butters combined with organic essential oils and Chinese herbs create a powerful cure for dry damaged cuticles.
• Body Butter: A nourishing blend of shea butter, matcha green tea and healing herbs deeply moisturize, protect and soothe rough, dry skin.

About Traditional Chinese Medicine

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is the modern practice of ancient healing techniques originating from China. A tradition began over 3,000 years ago, TCM owes its foundation to four modalities that comprise a holistic medical system: acupuncture, dietary therapy, qi gong and Chinese herbal medicine.

One component of TCM is known as Chinese Medicine Cosmetology, or Mei Rong. Drawing upon acupuncture techniques and the use of Chinese herbs, Mei Rong seeks to keep a patient's skin looking young and flawless. At Shē Essential Beauty we use these same concepts in our products to promote beauty from the inside out.
